Art Nouveau Palace Hotel

Excellent room, lobby. Very clean and well maintained. Gives great feeling of old city. Walking distance to all major sight seeing. Breakfast has wide variety. We will definitely choose this hotel again for Prague visit.

Great, walkable location to see Old Prague. Hotel itself was beautiful inside and we liked the historical authenticity in the furnishings. Breakfast was delicious with quite a variety and good service. Reception folks were a bit cool as was the restaurant and bar staff. We were never sure if we should just go in and find our own table or wait at the entrance. When we waited, staff looked at us but just kept us standing there for a long time and never acknowledged us. I finally went in, even though we were behind another couple, and just asked if we should find our own table? The server said he would find us a table. Another time I asked if they had any available tables, and he said, look around, do you see any available tables? I did not but also couldn’t see behind pillars. Not the friendliest but also common behavior in Central Europe.

We stayed here 2 nights in April 2025 at the start of a Viking Elegant Elbe tour. This is an older style hotel that is charming. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of room for luggage (both a rack and space in the closet), but there were not enough outlets for charging devices. The tub / shower was a bit hard to get into, so we were glad it had grab bars. It was hot in Prague when we stayed here, and they had not yet turned on the air conditioning, so the room got too warm for me. There is normally a charge for bottled water in the room, but Viking covered that. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We also ate in the hotel's restaurant twice. We liked the salmon dish so much that we had it both nights. The location was walking distance to many of the famous sights.
