We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Artiem. I particularly enjoyed my very cold but hugely revitalizing morning swims. We ate in the restaurant one evening, Sari was very attentive. Drinks very well priced for the location. The (help yourself) cava at breakfast is an elegant touch. The Spa is also very pleasant. I'd definitely come back.
This hotel was a special treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary: and WOW, it did not disappoint. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful and make you feel at home. The Bike Hut was perfect for securely locking our bikes up. The hotel room was so comfortable and we slept so well. The bathroom facilities were excellent and the shower utterly fantastic. The breakfast each day was superb with such a range of high quality fresh produce and a hot dish if you wanted. My husband and I are vegetarian and we quickly discovered that eating out in the Asturias Region is not easy: there are not many restaurants that will cater for vegetarians. We saw that the hotel's Green Lounge Restaurant menu had a few options so decided to try and eat here: BEST thing we ever did (and we wish we had tried sooner). The staff and kitchen were so helpful in offering alternative options (which were not on the menu). We enjoyed delicious hummus, club sandwich with egg, ensalada with avocado, mushroom risotto, vegetable rice, mushroom pizza - along with delicious vegetarian appetisers (and the nicest olives I have ever eaten). The desserts were utterly delicious too and despite being full up, we couldn't resist. Our week visit to Gijon was made perfect with Artiem Asturias: thank you! 😊
We will be back. Spent 4 nights here and had a lovely relaxing stay. Great value for money and very friendly staff. Great breakfast variety. Plenty of parking. Very clean rooms. Didn't get to make the most of the outdoor pool as the weather was not hot enough, but if it was, we would have made the most of it. The snacks with the drinks order are a nice touch. Only a few small things could be improved upon, which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars: - Bottled water was provided the first two days for the room, but none after that. It would be great if this was provided each day of the stay when the room is serviced. You also have to order water separately with your meal which sets you back €3.50. - We ate in the restaurant each night and the food and wine were great. I only had one disappointing meal which was the hamburger. It was way too salty and the wedges were slightly undercooked. Bread was offered, but we found out after it comes with a stiff price of €5 for a slice each. It would have been good if it had been made clear that the bread was extra as we wouldn't have taken it otherwise. - The room was very hot at night, even with the air-conditioning. Not sure if it is switched off during the night to save energy, which is fine, but it didn't make for a great night sleep. - I saw it in another review and echo the fact that the fire alarm blinking red at night was frustrating for me (not my partner, however). - No iron available in the room, which was disappointing given that people usually need to iron things after unpacking. Apart from the few small things above, we enjoyed our stay very much and will recommend to others.
