Aryaduta Medan

We stayed several nights in this hotel and it was a pleasant stay overall. The rooms are spacious and clean and the breakfast serves a variety of different tastes. What we really appreciated and want to mention is the very helpful staff. They all tried to help when we had some questions regarding the public transports. The hotel is located in the heart of Medan and a lot of places are in walking distance. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we were very happy to have been in such good hands.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and very spacious. Our kids loved it. We think it has less to do with the hotel and more to do with them getting an adjoining room and being able to play on their phones with more freedom than usual. Two other things: 1) the coffee bar at the restaurant refused to let us get our coffee to go. We got it one morning (one specific guy was nice enough), but after that, they wouldn't allow it. We couldn't figure out why - they have to go cups... 2) the restaurant food (dinner) was pretty bad. We had two dishes where the meat was over cooked. And our son opted for pizza (did not feel adventurous that night), and it oddly came wrapped in saran wrap (as if it was microwaved?). Also, it was a margherita pizza but had all sorts of toppings on it. It was the first pizza he ever ate where the crust was tastier than the pizza itself. Not saying all their food is like this, just do some due diligence before eating here. These are minor points in an overall comfortable and pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel if you are needing a place to stay in Medan.

Smack right in the city centre, and for the price, what more could you ask for? Delipark Mall and Centre Point Mall are just a few minutes away, and you can even walk there if you’re up for it. The room was nice and clean with a comfy bed, though the pillows were a bit too soft for my liking. Hotel service was fast and responsive. The pool is large and beautiful, definitely a highlight. The breakfast spread is a hit-or-miss. While they offer a good variety of both local and Western options, some items tasted bland or weren’t as fresh, like the cheese, cold cuts and fruits. They don’t serve ready-made scrambled eggs in the tray, so you’ll need to head to the egg station to order your eggs your way. Unfortunately, the waiting time can be quite long and off-putting. Still, it was a pleasant stay overall.
