Just finished our stay at the Harwell Location. I cannot thank both James and Angela enough for their above and beyond accommodations and communication, any help that was needed from booking to checkout was sorted ASAP (sometimes minutes !) This stay gave us the opportunity to visit family over christmas and I cannot thank you enough for that. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year.

I’m so disappointed with the appalling experience I have had with James at Ashbrook Lets. I had booked No. 8, and was informed check in would be at 3pm. I arrived at 5pm in December, to a cold and unpleasant smelling accommodation. I looked for heating controls and read the ‘Welcome’ book when I could see none. The information stated that guests had no access to heating control, rather it was controlled by the owners!! I left immediately and spoke to a member of staff to tell her I would have to cancel the booking as it was uninhabitable and make other arrangements. The staff member checked No.8 and agreed it was too cold to stay in. She offered to contact the owner but added that he was likely to be at the pub on a Friday night so wasn’t confident she could make contact. Obviously I could not stay and added to the staff member that the accommodation should have been ready for a guest at the agreed time of 3pm, therefore the issue with the possibility of no contact to fix heating should not have been an issue. The staff member verified this review as correct and agreed I could email it to her as proof. Some hours later, once I had found alternative accommodation, an irate James contacted me refusing refund for the period inside of 7 days notice and telling me he’d now put the heating on!! Too late! Appalling service. Run down, tired looking apartment. Unacceptable. On top of all this I now have the hassle of taking James of Ashbrook Lets to court to obtain my refund. Avoid.
