I booked this place because it is near the airport and Rangsit University where my son’s BJJ competition was held. We visited Bangkok for competition multiple times already. Definitely the best choice as it wasn’t traffic in this area. Everything I need is available because the hotel is on top of a mall. Service is excellent. The place is an older hotel but the service, quiet surroundings and comfort of the beds overshadowed the concerns on design. Executive Twin room was clean. I will definitely visit again when another competition is held near the area.

Pros: Not far from DKM Airport (20 mins), friendly staff, beds and pillows were comfy. Food was just okay, buffet breakfast was cheap but very basic. Had a small bath 🛁 Cons: Quite old and a little scruffy, carpets old looking, cockroaches in the room, appliances like bathroom shower and taps etc very old, wouldn't exchange money for us (USD for Thai) and no banks nearby would help us either which made buying things tough and inconvenient, no shuttle bus to and from airport..which is weird for an AIRPORT hotel. Also the pool was grimey and water looked murky and not clean like the advertisement.

I was excited to make my way to Bangkok for the first time after two weeks around Phuket and Khao Lak. Asia Airport Hotel seemed promising from afar with its good reviews. After spending nights at 6 other hotels, I finally had my first incredibly negative experience in Thailand. Location: the area around the hotel is just lackluster and dingy. Walking here at night was the first time I'd ever felt unsafe in Thailand. And while there may be things to do here during the day, we didn't get settled into our room until 10:30pm to find that everything in the hotel was closed. Not only that, but almost everything in the surrounding area was closed. We eventually found a bar/restaurant where we received awful service, the wrong drinks, and mediocre food. Upon leaving there, we found the only options for food/drink/anything were 7-11 and McDonalds. *sigh* It's safe to say that without taking a car or transit, there's no nightlife here. Staff: the hotel staff is the only wholly commendable aspect to the place. They are kind, gracious, and welcoming. Room: ugh. The room was just disgusting. Upon arrival, we found a cockroach scurrying under the TV. We found another after returning from being out. The room was also just not maintained. Several walls showed water damage. The wallpaper was ripped in multiple places. The laminate flooring in the entry has some kind of substance fused onto it (maybe a sealant?)... The bathroom floor was grimy and unwashed. The bathroom wall had children's stickers on it. The carpet is threadbare in many places. And the beds - the beds are hard-even by Thai standards. I also spent most of the night feeling springs poking me. Overall, the experience with the hotel and the area left us feeling hugely disappointed and wishing we'd stayed in Patong. I cannot recommend this hotel for any reason.
