Aspalathras White Hotel

We were here for 4 nights, early June, so it wasn't too busy. Nice room, quite spacious with a pool view. Bathroom needs a good update. Staff were great and very attentive. Breakfast was very Greek, but there was always a decent choice on offer. The pool area is where they have some improvements to make. The decking needs replaced as the wood is starting to splinter and, deary me, the sunbeds are awful. They are so uncomfortable and put a blight on, an otherwise, pleasant experience.

This is in a fabulous spot with views of the zig zag path up to the church. It looks far away but it's about 25 minutes. Also just a 5 minute walk into Chora with lots of lovely bars and restaurants. Staff are great. Our room was big but the shower was an over the bath one and didn't work very well. Very high bath to climb in and out of. Hard mattress Good breakfast with plenty of choice but very repetitive. It is in a downstairs room but there are a few tables by the windows so you can still see out. The pool itself is lovely ( but freezing). The pool area needs tidying up as the decking is awful and needs repairing in places as easy to trip over the bits that are sticking up. Pool bar shuts at 6pm for some reason. Music around the pool is the same every day and is very intermittent due to the WiFi signal so probably best not to play anything at all instead of the quick blasts that come from the speaker !! Lastly - the sunbeds - they are absolutely dreadful. The most uncomfortable sunbeds I have ever lay on and believe me that's alot. We did complain and got the guy on reception to try them out and he seemed shocked by them so hopefully management will get some more comfortable ones for future guests.

The hotel room is spacious, quite comfy and quiet with adequate food offered for the breakfast. A few minutes walk from the hotel to Chora. However, my companion and I requested the hotel to pick us up from another hotel as we have a big baggage plus a few carry on which is about 800m 3 minutes ride rather than picking us up from the port around 3 km away from the hotel. It will take more than 20 minutes by walk with steps and walk up & downs in Folegandros. We were turned down face to face and written and being told that their policy is clearly written the transportation is only arranged between port and the hotel vs. We were disappointed as running a business do practice ‘manage by exception' in some cases but the rigid transfer policy has no flexibility to their customers and followed the book which ruined our holiday a little bit. Customers are the word of mouth apart from marketing.
