Asteria Hotel Venray

Hotel was ok for a highway hotel. The location is good if you want to go for a walk in a forrest. The bed had a cushion so big my head stayed at 45 degrees al night, did not sleep well. Breakfast was simple but fine, staff were very loud in the morning and talking about stuff that killed my apetite. No bad intention on their part but I like a quiet coffee:-)

We've stayed at Asteria many times, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. This time, they were neither. Maybe my expectations were too grand, but for a deluxe double, I expected at least a double or a queen bed, but it was two singles, and when we asked for 1 bed, they said it wasn't possible? The smell of the room was chemicals - along with narrow beds it was hard to sleep.

Would've been perfect. But due to honest mistake our side, they took it as an opportunity to make an extra €40. And by trying to make up nonsense lie about capacity, when we only booked the room at 11:30pm gor a 1am check-in. Reception staff shouldn't make up stories to customers, because that one customer could be a Hotel GM like myself and can see straight through the lies.
