Aston Kaanapali Shores

After experiencing mediocre service and room quality in another resort checking into the Aston was a breath of fresh air. First of all the room was immaculate. It was large, modernized with a little character, and clean. The service of the front desk was amazing. Coffee in the AM. Free shuttles operating all day. We will definitely be returning and using Aston in the future.

This hotel is amazing. It has everything you need all in one place. There pools are warm and hot tubs are actually hot. The ocean is just steps away from our room. There are stores and places to walk just outside the hotel. Very happy with our choice to stay here.

We enjoyed our stay at AKS. The standard room is large and spacious with a nice balcony and view. The kitchen is clean and well stocked with the necessities. The king bed was fine, but the sofa bed, like most, was uncomfortable. The tennis courts are nice, but bring your own rackets. The ones provided are not good quality and only good for basic rallying-- not a real game. I agree with others who indicated the property could be updated. The carpet in the hallway was bubbling up and a bit worn. Overall, however, they seem to strive to keep the place clean. The hotel is located on a beautiful stretch of beach. There's an ABC Deli, a supermarket, a food truck park, and a few food places within a few minutes' walk. The only downside is the distance from Whaler's Village-- there is no shuttle service. We utilized the beach rentals, which were reasonable at the 4-day rate (about $5/day for a chair). The first day there, we swam with about 10 turtles, and there's a rocky area near the shore with lots of fish. We would stay here again. Kudos to Annie, the bartender in the restaurant, who was extremely nice and helpful.
