A great experience. Friendly staff, Great coffee and pretty straight forward breakfast. The room was very clean, A/C was quite strong and the water pressure was awesome. The staff was very helpful in accommodating me for an extra night and at a discounted rate although Athens was almost out of rooms. This is a great place to stay at for a business trip or even for tourism if you are exploring Athens. Looking forward to my next stay.

Stayed here for one night before we got the ferry to the islands. Area is a bit seedy, with sex shows and clubs on the road. That being said, it is close to the heart of the city (25 min walk) and the hotel itself is clean, modern and has friendly/helpful staff. Decent value too. Room was really big and new. Would recommend if you need to stay somewhere for one night.

Not to Be Trusted — Tried to Scam Us & Has a History of This With Other Guests This place looks nice — the lobby is nice, the rooms are nice — but don’t be fooled. This establishment is shady. When we arrived, they claimed they didn’t have our reservations, which we had booked seven months earlier through a well-known international travel agency. When our travel agency representative attempted to check us in, you could tell there was an issue (even though everyone was speaking Greek). They were taking an extraordinary amount of time and talking hurriedly among themselves. When we asked if there was an issue, we were dismissed and told to just wait — they were figuring it out. When I explained it would be helpful to just have an idea of what’s happening, they wouldn’t give me any answers. The travel agency representative, who was with us, clearly found this unacceptable and was attempting to work it out with them. But the second she turned her back and got on the phone with a manager at her agency, the hotel’s front desk workers tried to discreetly take our luggage and guide us out of the hotel into the sister hotel next door, which they kept emphasizing was exactly the same as the one we had made reservations for. (We later overheard an attendant from that hotel telling potential guests that there was a 30 Euro difference between the two.) During the TWO HOURS we waited while they tried to resolve this, I started reading TripAdvisor reviews for this hotel and one of their sister hotels (the Athenaeum Grand) — there were several stories I noticed, at just a glance, of the same thing happening to other customers. This seems to be something this hotel and its other locations does: falsely claim your reservation doesn’t exist and then bump you to one of their less expensive locations even though you paid full price for another, more expensive one. It’s a scam — find another affordable place in the area and avoid the hassle/hustle.
