I had a wonderful experience at Athens Avenue Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and eager to help with anything I needed. The location is excellent — close enough to the city centre for easy access to the main attractions, but far enough to offer a peaceful night’s sleep. The rooms were spotless, modern, and well-appointed, with a very comfortable bed and high-quality linens. I especially appreciated the soundproofing, which made for a quiet and restful stay. The air conditioning was efficient, and the Wi-Fi connection was strong throughout the hotel. Breakfast was a highlight — fresh, varied, and delicious, with both hot and cold options, including local Greek delicacies. The dining area was clean and bright, and the service was consistently attentive. Overall, Athens Avenue Hotel offers great value for money and combines comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.
I gave it two stars because I was able to check in early. However, when I was in my room I kept getting bitten by some bugs. The sheets were also not clean and had stains on it. When I left on my day trip to Santorini I informed someone at the front desk of what was happening. When I came back nothing was changed. The bed was done and it had the same stains, and that night I felt the bug bites as well. All I did was to inform the hotel via email that I kept getting bug bites, sent them images and I hope they fumigate the room and do a deep cleaning.
The bare minimum for any hotel (let alone one claiming to be 4*) is to enable you to sleep - you won’t get that here. The soundproofing in the rooms has failed, meaning the 8 lane motorway right outside might as well be in the room with you. It is impossible to sleep, even if blasting your own white noise to try to counteract it. It never stops all night. The rooms are also in poor general condition with visible damage. You need a taxi to get anywhere from here too. Don’t attempt to walk, it’s hilly and you’re cut off my motorways on most sides. To be fair, the breakfast was nice and the beds soft. If you’re hearing impaired then it might be worth staying here, otherwise avoid, avoid, avoid.
