Great for a short stay in Aberdeen! Lovely comfortable and spacious rooms. Bar area with outdoor seating to the front of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice, cooked options as well as cereal, pastries, etc. Large car park round the back of the hotel.

Took a solo visit to atholl hotel for a night of live music and drinks, finding the hotel was easy, i don't have a LEZ approved car so often struggle to drive to hotels within the city centre. Atholl is on the outskirts of the centre so that wasn't a worry and close enough to catch a bus into the centre. The room itself was a little dated(reason for the 4star not 5), but was nice nonetheless, the reception staff were lovely, I would however avoid saying out loud the room number to visitors and instead show them on the ticket. I ordered room service for supper as I'm an anxious diner and appreciated the option of eating in my room! The bed was really comfy, the room wasn't too hot which is another issue I find in some hotels. The room was very clean and I was actually able to relax! I returned to the hotel after a night out around 1.30am and it was an easy return, doorman let me in, it was a quiet night considering how busy the hotel seemed! Would definitely return!!

Out the other night for my partners birthday. The service was excellent and the food was impeccable, huge portion sizes which did feel a bit overwhelming. The rib of beef was tender and cooked to perfection, and my partners curry looked absolutely divine (I didn't get to taste it as he is greedy!!) The only fault I have is the heat in the dining room, the fire was on despite it being a glorious day outside. Wasteful of gas and made for a very, very uncomfortable dining experience. It's also not nice to have your server sweating over you as they serve your food. The staff looked like they were struggling. The elderly couple next to us were so put off by the heat they couldn't eat their food. Asked a young chap to turn off the fire but nobody ever did.
