Atour Hotel Hongen Road Forest Park Chongqing

As stays go in China this hotel wasn’t terrible however we did find it very hard to navigate the service at the hotel. From the start we were screwed over by Bookong.com who confirmed our dates and booking however when we got to the hotel after long train journey they didn’t have our reservation. Also, we understand that it wasn’t the hotel fault. It felt that they weren’t going to do anything about it until we were suggestion options to them by saying can you just give us any room and we will pay here at the hotel. Bearing in my mind this is our honeymoon. It felt like there was a huge language barrier with the hotel staff. No one at the hotel spoke English which meant that we had to call some of our friends that spoke Mandarin to try and explain our situation and try and get the hotel to give us a room as it was already too late for us to go anywhere else to get a room. Besides the lack of customer service and not by any fault of the hotel, but I do feel that they could have gone above and beyond without us having to suggest can you give us a room. We managed to get a room and paid more than we would have originally of the hotel would have found our booking but none the less the view was amazing and we also had an amazing location next to the famous bridge!
