I stayed for one night at the Atrium Hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the hotel room. It's very spacious and comfortable. This is a convenient and reasonably priced hotel if you have a stopover in London and are flying out of Heathrow the next day -- you'll get to your terminal from the tube station across the street in less than 15 minutes, taking the Piccadilly line. The room did come with tea and coffee, which I appreciated. The toiletries, however, were a little amusing. I recall one review comparing the soap to a pebble. I didn't know what they meant, until I took a shower and tried to use the small, round and very hard soap! It wasn't a big issue, just a little funny. A hot breakfast buffet was included in my stay. Staff worked hard replenishing the food and cleaning tables in the huge banquet room. But the sheer crowds of people having breakfast made for a chaotic and extremely busy scene. Expect to spend some time with your plate searching for an available table and navigating the crowds. All in all, however, the Atrium Hotel offers good value for money and convenience for Heathrow passengers.
Perfectly adequate for a cheap hotel near to Heathrow. Rooms were fine but small, didn't hear much noise and had a small fridge and kettle. There is a pub a few minutes walk away and a Tesco Superstore about 10 mins walk down the road. You can jump on a bus or get the tube (free from Hatton Cross) to Heathrow Terminals. Breakfast was fine, buffet style. Staff were generally helpful although some are still leaning with the hotel only reopening in May. On the flight path so you can step outside and watch planes flying over or from your room if you pay extra - sound proofing in rooms mean you don't hear them.
We were allocated this hotel when our flight was cancelled. We chose it because it was 4* however… it’s not amazing. The food provision was poor, the ambience eerie and the breakfast bags for take out filled with random items which were not in good condition. Would I choose to stay here ever again? Absolutely not. One positive was that the room was quiet despite being directly beneath the flight path. Despite being on the airport boundary road, we were still charged £26 for a taxi to the terminal. I do wonder if it would have been cheaper to book a cab directly instead of using the machine in their foyer. I wish I’d chosen the 3* well known budget brand instead. At least I would have known what was coming and the food would have been better. It couldn’t have been much worse!
