Au Grand Hôtel de Sarlat Pavillon de SELVES

Charming hotel in the charming town of Sarlat. Beautiful light-filled lobby. Nice breakfast buffet with a variety of food. We had some special needs while staying there and they were very accommodating. Internet can be slow/spotty. No firm handholds in shower.

My Stay: I had three (3) nights at the Hotel de Selves, Sarlat in late June 2023, as part of an Albatross Tour group. Check-in: Check-in was done by our tour manager, and to me it appeared quick and easy. My Room: My room was large and well appointed. The Bed: The bed was comfortable. The Bathroom: The bathroom facilities were adequate. Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to, but it was useless. All members of the touring party commented that “Uploads” were not possible. The connection speed was unable to deliver reasonable upload speeds. In fact, most attempts to Upload failed. Perhaps this is not the hotel’s fault, it is after all in rural France, and may not have access to connection speeds that City people expect. Location: This hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from central Sarlat. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was adequate. Dining: We only ate breakfast at this hotel. Recommendation: I would prefer to stay closer to central Sarlat. So if I returned to this beautiful town, I would look for a hotel closer to the centre.

The bathroom was too small and the toilet paper holder was broken. The paper kept rolling off onto the floor. The tub was too narrow and needed more safety bars.
