While it does cost a small fortune to stay here, the experience was definitely worth it. Walking in the smell of the lobby is beautifully welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful right away. The room was clean and spacious. The whole resort was easy to get around with a wheelchair user. I wanted to make the most of meeting all the characters with my sister so I had made reservations for the character breakfast and dinner. I had such a great time. Food was good. On our check out day we were still able to use the facilities until we had to leave for our flight and there is a designated bathroom with showers if you need before leaving.

Aulani is a unique hotel with incredible pools, beautiful views, and plenty of dining options. The best part for us was the beach, located in a bay that makes the water super calm and safe for kids. However, the rooms are small and quite basic for the price you pay. We were negatively surprised that there is no daily housekeeping if you stay less than 4 nights, especially considering how expensive the hotel is. We also found the food and drinks very pricey. Disney characters are hard to spot; the kids were very excited but we rarely saw them, which was a bit disappointing. The lu‘au-style dinner show is wonderful: although the food isn’t the best, the performance is an amazing cultural and family experience, probably one of the best shows we’ve seen at hotels. In conclusion, we would return, but with more realistic expectations, knowing it’s a special family experience rather than luxury rooms or easy character meet-and-greets.

Disney Magic in a Hawaiian Paradise! We had an absolutely magical stay at Aulani! This resort perfectly blends the enchantment of Disney with the serene beauty of Hawaii. The rooms were fantastic — spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with thoughtful Hawaiian details. There is so much to do for the entire family. From the incredible lazy river and thrilling water slides to the character meet-and-greets, we were never bored. One of the best parts is the beautiful, calm beach. It's located in a protected lagoon, which makes the water perfectly gentle and ideal for kids and relaxing. Now, for the reality check: be prepared for the cost. As expected for a Disney resort in Hawaii, you are paying a massive premium. The room prices are high, and everything on-site is quite expensive. There also aren't many options for dinner or buying food in the immediate area outside the resort. Despite the expense, it was worth every penny for the unique experience and the memories we made.
