Aurico Kata Resort & Spa SHA Extra Plus

My wife and I had an amazing 9 nights, 10 days, stay here during our holiday in Phuket. Its location is a short 10-15 mins walk from Kata Beach, and there’s tons of restaurants and shops nearby for all your needs. The resort is very new in comparison to other resorts in the area, and everything looks and feels nice! The service from all staff members was exceptional and they made sure that all our needs were met. They were very friendly in making small talk and helping provide assistance when needed too. We had no issues with housekeeping as some of these reviews on here state, everything was kept clean at all times. Our room was nice and overlooking the swimming pool, and oh boy what can I say about the swimming pool, it is amazing for Phuket weather! We stayed here at the end of July to the first week of August, so the prices were really great also! I would highly highly recommend staying here for your holiday in Phuket! I’ll be back for sure!

This is a hard review to write because our experience at Aurico Kata Resort & Spa was a mixed bag. We stayed for six nights in April 2025, and while there were definitely some enjoyable aspects, there were also several disappointments that are hard to overlook. Our initial impression of the room wasn’t great. It felt tired and in need of a refresh. The toilet seat was discoloured, the towels were thin, and the lighting in the room was quite dim. We also encountered a few bugs in the room—while not unexpected in tropical locations, it didn’t help the overall feel of cleanliness. Unfortunately, the evening staff didn’t leave a strong impression. They often appeared unmotivated, spending time on their phones rather than attending to guests or communal areas. After a heavy rain, there were many dead bugs around the resort’s pathways and common areas, and it was disappointing to see that these weren't promptly cleaned up. Housekeeping was another area that could use improvement. We had to request refills for basic amenities like shower gel and cotton buds, and the balcony was not swept until we asked. These small oversights added up and made the experience feel less polished. There was some noise from neighbouring rooms, but nothing too disruptive. However, the hot water in the shower was temperamental and not very reliable. On a more positive note, the breakfast was a standout. The dishes were consistently well prepared, and it’s clear the chef takes pride in what they serve. That said, I would ask the hotel to consider starting breakfast earlier for guests who have excursions booked—this would be a thoughtful and practical improvement. The pool is another major plus—large, clean, and perfect for the hot weather. It also has great jacuzzi-style features and was always at a comfortable temperature. Special mention goes to the pool bar staff, who were attentive, friendly, and contributed significantly to our enjoyment. Happy hour (5pm–7pm) was a great touch, offering well-priced drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. Overall In the end, our stay was satisfactory. There are definitely some areas where the resort could improve—particularly in room upkeep, housekeeping, and staff engagement—but the food and pool facilities did help balance out the experience. With a bit more attention to detail, this resort has the potential to be much better.

This property is more of a 3 star hotel. It’s not like the pictures very old and run down. The property exterior seems like it has mold on the exterior walls. The rooms are not cleaned properly and the sheets have stains on them. It felt dirty. The pool area at night is pretty but during the day you can really get a look at it. The gym area was literally disgusting . The exterior glass the entire time I was there was never cleaned and the hotel has staff. I don’t understand how a hotel could be so dirty. Elevators never cleaned. None of the exterior glasses were cleaned. I had to change my room three times to finally get a decent one. Would not recommend staying here. Try somewhere else that actually takes care of the property. Also WiFi did not work properly, my rooms power kept coming on and off through out the night. Try a better hotel. The reviews I read were misleading. You have been warned.
