Austin's Inn at Pearl Street

I loved this place, so cozy and everyone was so welcoming. The lady who checked us in was a sweetheart, Sunday when were checking out we missed the coffee and the snacks. Well I think it was close to 11, and she offered some snacks and fresh fruit although we missed the time for serving. I thought that was very kind of her, It was a great place. Romantic, cozy and just a nice place to enjoy your weekend in Austin.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a very friendly cat. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Cons: The room did not match the picture. My wife noticed, after we were in the room, that the furniture was different than the online photo. The furniture in the actual room looked cheaper and detracted from the overall appearance. The jacuzzi tub was extremely loud and appeared old. Also, breakfast was minimal with granola bars, tubs of yogurt, and apple fritters cut up into slices. (There May have been other food.)

First negative review I've ever left. I would suggest any other hotel at a similar cost. The hotel does not have any temperature controls, so you live with what you've got. In our case, either hot and stuffy or cold. The bed is miserable, feels more like sleeping on a trampoline than a bed. The rooms could badly use some $10 blackout curtains. The blinds do nothing to block the light, so be ready to get up at sunrise. The place could also use a re-fresh as the wallpaper in out room was falling from the ceiling. No sugar for coffee in the morning. The outside is nice and has We normally stay at boutique hotels but this may change that.we ended up leaving a day early and getting another hotel to get some sleep.
