Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre

The room was up to standard and very large and the pool had an inflatable obstacle course which was great for kids. Would recommend. The Chinese restaurant was superb and the deep fried custard buns were delicious.

We spent four nights in Khon Kaen and decided to test Avani for one night — and I’m glad we didn’t book all four nights here. The room was okay, but the ceiling showed signs of leakage and one pillowcase had a major tear (thankfully, we travel with our own pillows). The bed was a bit too firm for my partner, so we decided to check out the next morning. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated.

Rooms are clean and spacious. Swiming pool is amazing. The included breakfast is abundant but nothing special. Restaurants in the hotel are very expensive and they add 10% service fee on your bill. I consider this a money grab. Prices should include everything and the tip is up to the customer. Food is not something to impress you, everything is a little on the salty side. You can eat much better food at local restaurants and much cheaper.
