Aventinus Hotel

Aventinus Hotel was an excellent choice for us and served as a strategic base for our weekend stay in Nyíregyháza. Overall, we were very satisfied, and the hotel has earned a strong four-star rating from us. The biggest plus for us was the incredible flexibility regarding parking, which made our stay extremely convenient. We arrived before the official check-in time and, without any issue, were able to leave our car in the hotel parking lot while we enjoyed our day at the nearby aquapark. What completely won us over, however, was being allowed to keep our car parked there for the entire following day after we had checked out. Thanks to this, our visit to the ZOO was carefree and comfortable. The room itself was exactly as we had hoped – clean, tidy, and pleasant. We especially appreciated the quality mattresses and fresh bed linens, which guaranteed an excellent night's sleep after a full day of experiences. The only minor disappointment that prevented us from giving a perfect score was the breakfast. The selection was, unfortunately, quite poor and did not match the otherwise high standard of the hotel. The variety was limited, and we found it lacking in freshness and options. Despite this, we rate our stay very positively. The fantastic location and, above all, the exceptional flexibility with parking make this hotel an ideal choice. If you are planning to visit the aquapark or the ZOO, Aventinus will save you a lot of hassle. We definitely recommend it.

Good location if you go to visit zoo. Good breakfast nice environment. Staff nice and polite even when we arrive we check in 2 adult and 1 baby with mention that baby bad needed and Booked and this was not instaled and feedback was that they don't have a free one anymore. They buy a new one but the lady from front desk did not know that this need a blanchet pillow and extra towel. No cleaning second day wihch was surprinsing. Room look a bit old and quite small.

Highly overpriced hotel where... 1. I woke up for the broken mosquito door constantly smashing the door of the balcony in the wind(family suite with two rooms). It's been like that for weeks/months clearly seen by the level of damage but no-one reported it. The kind staff removed it so next day I could have a nicer morning. 2. The 10 years old fake leather sofa have never seen any maintenance and looks accordingly... Poor quality. 3. The upper wooden panel of an inside door frame was not fixed at all (just put on top of the two sides) and fell on the back of our friends' daughter who was playing with our kids in the last morning. That was a shocking experience not just for us but for the hotel staff, too. Like a horror movie. 4. The restaurant is awful. I ordered a sou-vide duck and they put a boot-sole on my plate. Simply inedible. Go to the restaurant on the other side of the street, instead, which is awesome. In general, this is a classic example of a place where they invested a fortune 10 years ago to make it look nice and ever since they haven't touched it just squeezing the money out of it. My worst hotel experience in Hungary so far even with the polite staff and the good location.
