Avenue Hotel Canberra

Returned to The Avenue a few years after being a regular. They haven't missed a beat! Room is immaculate, super comfortable beds, great pillows, great amenities and outstanding service. Add to this the great food, prompt room service and friendly staff and I'd rate The Avenue as the best in Canberra and best value.

Clean room, comfortable bed and good location near restaurants and bus terminal. It was cheaper booking through an outside booking site even when I asked the hotel for best price. Although it was nice to have terry bathrobes provided they were a small size and scratchy. The bar fridge was a lock system so unable to put our milk etc in. There was a note on fridge stating to contact hotel to remove mini bar if you wish to use but it seemed too much hassle for one night. The hand shower hose leaked. I informed housekeeping. It was very quiet until 4am when we were woken by 2 women underneath our room talking about their jobs, cars were pulling up and then the talking was joined by male voices, all indian accents. I had to lean out the balcony and ask for quiet. Our room was above the hotel front doors so I do wonder if perhaps this was staff arriving for the morning shift. Having said that I would stay again if the price was right

Location is great. Room size ( one bedroom) is really good. That's where it ends. We had ripped bed sheets that were sewn up, one drinking glass between two, a coffee machine but no pods, electrical cables strewn on the floor from the tv equipment, showers which leak over the outside floor due to poor shower stall fittings but worse was our previous stay when cleaners left our door open after doing a clean while we were out.
