Avila La Fonda Hotel

We just celebrated our anniversary here for the second year in a row, and once again, it was absolutely perfect. The hotel is simply outstanding—the staff is warm and attentive, the location is ideal, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and inviting. If you're looking for a place to unwind and truly relax, this is it. We’ve made beautiful memories here, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a serene and memorable getaway. Can’t wait to come back!

What a wonderful experience. Great room, amazing friendly staff. Several receptions with treats throughout the day is the icing on the cake. My advice: BOOK DIRECT. I booked via a 3rd party app. Thankfully, the hotel was able to honor what the 3rd party had promised. That is not always the case. They were wonderful in every way and I can't wait to go back.

Charming Boutique Hotel, but Needs a Mattress Upgrade! This hotel has the charm of a cozy boutique stay. The building itself is cute and welcoming, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touch of evening snacks and drinks. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the beach, which is a definite plus. My favorite part was a Salsa, chips and beer in afternoon. The rooms are very clean and well-equipped, with a full kitchen and a small balcony. However, the biggest downside—and the reason for my 4 star rating—was the bed. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable, and unfortunately, we barely slept because of it. It’s definitely time for La Fonda to invest in better quality beds for their guests. Another issue was the strong smell of oil from the pre-made breakfast pastries, which filled the room early in the morning—definitely not the most pleasant wake-up. I need to mention that the A/C unit was so small and very loud! Definitely noisy and annoying. Lastly, the room we received didn’t fully match what was advertised on the hotel’s website. The photos showed a sofa in the room, but ours had none. With a few updates—especially to the beds—this hotel could offer a much more enjoyable stay. It's a lovely property with potential, but currently falls short in comfort. We would definitely will back to this place. I hope the hotel manager makes some changes. This hotel deserves better.
