Arriving here for an overnight stay to attend an in-house wedding we were not disappointed. The lovely, cheerful receptionist gave us a very friendly welcome and we felt at home straight away. Our room overlooking the garden was spacious and clean with the comfiest of beds. After a relaxing drink in the lounge we settled in the dining room and were served a delicious hot meal by the outstanding attentive staff. Wedding day arrived and first on the agenda was breakfast - everything there you could wish for. The big moment arrived and everyone, including the happy bride and groom, couldn't have been more spoilt. Arrangements for this special occasion were second to none from the ceremony itself to the serving of a hot, tasty three course meal and arrival of the wedding cake by the amazing attentive staff. Withdrawing to the adjacent terrace overlooking the lovely well kept gardens and surroundings we continued to be pampered. Can't praise all the staff enough, Katie, Chris, Emily, Harry and Louisa to name just a few of the outstanding team. They were all second-to-none and a credit to this fabulous place. All of us went away very, very happy after this memorable occasion. Thank you all at Avisford Park Hotel and well done.
Thank you Emily for going the extra mile to make my mum & auntie's birthday so special. The hotel was set in beautiful grounds with good facilities from spa to comfortable bar. The staff were so helpful, the rooms were very clean and well equipped highly recommended.
This place is a really mixed bag. The staff are the nicest thing about the place. Very worn looking with the squeakiest floors I’ve ever heard. Corridors and room. The room was clean but tired in places - the water pressure was non existent and the bed was so uncomfortable. The restaurant was nice but the food looked good but was poor tasting. The beer was good but the cocktails were awful. Same one tasted different and worse each time. The guy in the golf club was lovely. Breakfast was good. We thought it would be more spa like. The pool is tiny and grubby. The changing rooms weren’t very clean and covered in freezing water, there is no seating or places to relax, 2 chairs plonked at the side of the pool, 2 feet from were some lovely ladies were taking aqua fit classes! It is a local leisure centre which is lovely for them but not if you have booked to use it to relax. We had expected to be able to relax for a few hours before the treatments we had booked but there was nothing to do and no where to relax especially with the classes going on so we decided we had to leave - this was our only kid free trip for a while and felt it was wasted. We also had to pay the cancellation fee for the beauty therapist that was separate but we couldn’t sit for 4 hours with nothing to do. Spoke to the man at the front desk who sort of just shrugged at me and said sorry it wasn’t what I expected
