Awaji Hamarikyu

The interior of this hotel is beautiful. The large staircase at the entrance is particularly impressive. The hotel is located by the sea and all of the rooms face west, so the view of the sunset is beautiful. The dinner and the breakfast were delicious, and the hot spring bath was very relaxing. During our entire stay, the staff were very attentive, helpful, and professional. I would be happy to stay at this hotel again.

Clean, quiet with a nice view of the ocean. There was a limited number of hotels of this calibre within in area but was happy with my stay. Good amenities, complementary drinks and service. Some areas my room can use some refurbishing, either than that it was a good stay.

We got a good deal while coming off season and wanted to experience an onsen resort while visiting Japan. The town this hotel is in doesn’t have a lot going on so expect to spend your time in the room/onsen. The meals were very good traditional Japanese food. The service during dinner left a lot to be desired. The waiter was giving notably better service and attention to other Japanese tables than our table of tourists, even acknowledging that he didn’t speak much English. The onsens were very nice and not busy, and the rooms were traditional and spacious. We managed communicating well enough, but I was surprised at the language barrier for a hotel that advertises as much English speaking.
