Stayed here during a Seminar organized by ECOWAS and I had a really pleasant experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Liked the tea selection in my room and the food options were satisfactory. I also had a great sea view. Over all it was a great stay and will recommend it for anyone especially those organizing international workshops.
Had a short 2-night stay but really enjoyed the experience. The rooms were spacious and super comfortable. Breakfast was great with plenty of options, though the dinner menu felt a bit limited. The hotel has plenty of cozy spots to unwind, grab a drink, or even get some work done. It would be even better if more staff spoke English to make communication smoother for international guests — but overall, a solid and enjoyable stay!
I stayed two nights at the Azalai. Positives first: + The rooms are clean, spacious enough, and in good condition with modern fixtures in the bathroom, new tv, etc. The room was quite comfortable and was quiet (although the view looked out onto a wasteland of a construction site, so I kept the drapes drawn). The Hotel is also well laid out with a nice terrace and a beautiful restaurant. The negatives - When I stayed, there happened to be an event that took over the entire hotel and literally rendered most of its services unusable. For instance, the entire pool, terrace and outdoor seating was off-limits to guests. The restaurant was packed so full with conference goers from 12:00-4:00 that there literally was no space to sit and eat. Then the staff shut down the restaurant for cleaning and re-setting until 7:30, meaning that there was no option to sit and eat anywhere in the hotel for 7.5 hours (other than room service which has a much reduced menu). As a paying guest, it felt like most of the hotel and its most important amenities were basically off-limits. Also while the hotel sits on an isolated little peninsula literally everything around it is a giant construction zone, meaning that rather than being secluded and nice, it is isolated and desolate feeling. What's the upshot? Great place to stay if you want a nice modern room at a good price, and don't mind the construction-scape but call ahead to make sure there isn't a big event planned for your stay. Also don't plan to walk anywhere. You'll have to grab a taxi or use Yango to get anywhere.
