Our experience at Azalaï Hotel (Marhaba) was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. A special thanks to Mr. Mahmoud at the front desk, who was incredibly helpful and accommodating. His fluent English skills made everything easier, and he went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable throughout our stay. One of the features that really stood out was the on-site pharmacy. Though small, it was truly a life-saver, especially when we needed quick access to basic medical supplies without having to leave the hotel. The hotel security is also excellent—very professional and discreet. We felt completely safe and at ease during our entire stay. Rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The restaurant served delicious food with a good variety, and the central location made getting around Nouakchott very convenient. Highly recommended! A big thank you to the Azalaï Hotel (Marhaba) team—and especially to Mr. Mahmoud—for making our stay so pleasant and stress-free.

"I haven’t had the chance to stay at Hotel Stage yet, but I’ve heard many great things about it from friends. People speak highly of the service, comfort, and atmosphere. Looking forward to experiencing it myself soon!"

A colleague and I stayed at this hotel on a work trip for 10 days. Overall the hotel is very nice, with good facilities and friendly staff. However: 1) the service is very slow, especially in the restaurant. There are a lot of staff available but everything takes so long. Things move very slowly here. 2) food and drink at the buffets are not replenished, which means if you don’t arrive at the beginning of the service, you are faced with a bit of leftovers. It’s not a good look. When I asked the staff to replenish some juice, they said they could not. The coffee machine ran out of coffee every time I went to get a cup of coffee. Again, it took a long time for staff to refill the coffee. 3) there are some customers who are clearly not guests of the hotel and display odd behaviour towards other guests (such as incessant staring, men in ladies’ bathrooms) 4) the shopkeeper, Bijou, was very pushy throughout our stay and would harass us to buy from her shop every time we came downstairs to the lobby. This made us feel uncomfortable. On the last day, as we were having lunch, she accosted us at the table and said “it was not nice of us to not buy from her shop, when we had said we would come back” and that “ca ne se fait pas, c’est pas gentille, vous n’êtes pas des amies”. There’s no obligation to buy from her shop, but she makes you feel like it. She was intimidating and the whole experience was very strange. Edit: how hard is it to get toilet paper in this hotel? I don’t think they’ve heard it.
