Baan Karonburi Resort

We noticed the rooms are getting an overhaul. Well needed. The front entrance needs sprucing up. Staff amazing cleaning ladies excellent. Would I stay again yes when rooms are done. But as a option cheap 1400 for 2 weeks. We had the rooms with your own access to pool.

The Hotel suited our family of 6 Adults and 1 Toddler. The PROS: We had Premier Pool Access rooms at the back of the resort (about 100m walk) were spacious and lots of storage, very comfy bed, pillows and good daily housekeeping, aircon worked well. Breakfast options were pretty good and as expected for this calibre of Hotel. Recommend the omlette. Good coffee and tea options. Asian and western food choices. Karon Beach is directly across the main beach road and lots of restaurants, markets, 7Eleven, Pharmacy, massage and money exchange nearby. The front Bar is great stop to people watch and view the daily sunset. The CONS: Main Pool is small and very little shade anytime of the day. Parts of the Hotel need an update. Shower was small with old fashioed sliding doors but lovely rain shower head. Sun Lounges were old. Pool Access Rooms have sun lounges but were missing Umbrellas unlike the photos shown. Afternoon there was no shade and the sun in Phuket is way too hot without shade options. The restaurant where breakfast is served is very small and crowded and staff take a long time to clear up tables. Service at the Restaurant like everywhere in Phuket is sub-standard as you have to flag the staff down to place an order, get further drinks or get your bill.

The room we booked and reserved had a broken AC unit, it took them about AN HOUR to fix the AC. I’m sure they were suppose to have the room ready BEFORE the guests arrived, we traveled for 8 hours straight and were desperately in need of a shower and food. But we just sat in the room silently as their mechanic fixed the AC(credit to him). We will not be returning and CERTAINLY would not recommend anyone who’s looking for a relaxing stay near the beach, better look somewhere.
