The owners and managers of this hotel really put their heart into it and it shows from their attention to detail. It's always the little things that you remember and Baan Klang Wiang caters to people who tend to appreciate those smaller things. Upon arrival you are given freshly squeezed orange juice and when you enter your room you find freshly cut flowers and a plate of fresh mangosteens for you to eat. The rooms are very tastefully furnished, mostly in the local style, and are simply beautiful, with a huge four-poster bed being the centre piece. There is an air purifier tucked away in the corner, running all the time and there are USB ports on some of the power points. Oh, there is a large shoe horn hanging by the side of the door and umbrellas near the entrance, too. Breakfast is not a buffet but rather an order from a menu submitted the previous night. I found this strange at first, after staying in hotels that provided a buffet, but I was pleasantly surprised by the generous amount of food and the quality of that food. Our individual servings of fresh fruit arrived on a washed leaf that was sitting on a saucer-sized plate and my hot chocolate came on its own cup-sized mini tray. Our marmalade came in small, sealed individual jars. Piano music played very softly in the background. Linen was crisp and a white and cutlery was a complete set along with a real butter knife. The toast is cafe style and around 2cm thick and this morning I noticed my fresh watermelon was cut into heart shapes. The hotel is surprisingly peaceful and quiet, given that it is set back only a hundred metres or so from a main road. The pool is set in a lovely garden area, which is also a place where you can eat your breakfast if you would rather not sit inside (which is still a semi-open area anyway). The lobby has lots of books and magazines should you feel like reading. Overall, Baan Klang Wiang is an excellent choice, one you won't regret. It's always the little things.
Located in the old town, many places in walking distance, temples, night market, Saturday night market, Sunday night market many restaurants and eating stalls evening time near the gate. Our room was very clean, and well designed. Actually the hotel was very well designed and clean. We tried the pool but there were too many mosquitos we had to run. Staff was very kind and helpful. The only negative things were mosquitos and noise came from the AC other than very satisfied. If you come by your car they have parking lots also.
Love this hotel so much. Seems to cater to mostly Asian tourists and I just loved it. Fantastic rooms. Wonderful and varied breakfast options. Staff are outgoing and friendly. And a great location for the night market and sightseeing. One tip: they like to shut off the AC during the room cleaning. So we were out for 5 hours and crazy hot, looking forward to our cool room. But the staff turned off the AC and we needed to wait about an hour before the room was cool again. We ended up hiding the AC remote on them to make sure it stayed on while we were gone the next day. That might make us bad people, I don’t know. But it worked a mint! They have laundry service at 60b / kg. Walking distance to Green Bamboo if you’re getting a massage. We booked via Agoda. Seemed to be the best price at the time. (Pic is at breakfast) J
