I will start by saying that the hotel is excellent and very suitable for children. It can provide entertainment and interest for at least a week. We had a lot of fun. Here is a breakdown by categories: Location: The hotel's location is excellent. The signage on the way is great, and you don't need apps to get there. The area is quiet and peaceful, with a forest atmosphere that offers a sense of freedom and peace. From anywhere in the hotel (except the maxi suite we stayed in 😂), you can see the Bavarian Forest. The surrounding villages are nice and worth a visit, as is the beautiful agriculture of this region. It's a perfect place. Pools: We were there with few people, which multiplied the experience. When there is no line for the slides, the children can go up and down dozens of times. The outdoor and indoor pools are clean, look great, and easily fit a five-star hotel. The kids can stay in them for hours. Animal Corner and Stable: The horses at this hotel are worth a visit by themselves. They are calm, beautiful, well-tamed, and taken care of by an excellent staff. The horses provide great interactions, offering a wonderful experience for children who want to ride or pet them. The hotel's animal corner, along with the climbing and zipline areas, are great for families looking for activities without leaving the hotel. The donkeys, rabbits, and goats also have calm temperaments and are suitable for children of any age. Bicycles and Jeeps for Children: One of the nice things this hotel provides is free bicycles—electric, regular, and recumbent. These can provide hours of enjoyment. I took a pair of bicycles for a ride in nearby villages and enjoyed every moment. I recommend bicycle enthusiasts try it out. Having coffee in Bad Koblenz (I hope I got the name right) can be one of the most enjoyable parts of your trip. The jeeps for children do cost money, but they allow kids to explore the hotel grounds freely. We used them a few times, and it was very nice. The hotel should consider providing cards for children to use them more frequently, as it became one of the most expensive experiences of our vacation cumulatively. Staff: The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everyone is nice, and you won't pass by them without hearing a greeting. The employees are incredibly helpful and nice. After a week at the hotel, I concluded that the strongest component of this hotel is its staff. From the room cleaners, who strive to do a good and clean job, to the waiters in the dining room (yes, Andrea, I mean you) who create a feeling of home and take care of every guest. Additionally, the hotel's landscaping team does a great job. We were in the only room without potted plants and missed the great landscaping care seen throughout the hotel. The rest of the hotel and its surroundings receive dedicated care from the gardening team, a feast for the eyes for those who love flowers, plants, and fine gardening. Language Difficulties: More English is needed. Although there aren't many tourists in the hotel (I didn't see any), a hotel of this size should aim to accommodate them better. They need more signage, menus, room information, maps, and itineraries in English. Conclusion: This is an excellent hotel, and we will come back. It's not suitable for everyone and is quite expensive, but it's worth it. Some areas require improvement, but the hotel is under construction, so it deserves patience. The trip was worth it (we drove long hours to this hotel, set a high bar of expectations, and met most of them). We had fun. It's a lovely place with a great atmosphere of freedom.
Had a wonderful time at The Ulrichs Hof! Excellent food, modern design, spacious, great pool and Kids areas. Kids and adult program was outstanding. Fitness trainers were amazing, especially Radeks Zirkeltraining with weights! Thanks, we’ll definitely come back 💯
Our stay at Ulrichshof exceeded all expectations. Not only was it the ideal place to vacation as a family including grandparents, it was also the first time our young daughter, who has multiple severe food allergies, ate food that was not prepared by us. I want to extend a special thank you again to the wonderful kitchen and restaurant team, head chef Stefan who met with me personally to make a plan for food during our stay, and made our daughter feel excited and confident about her food. It was such a relief and ultimately the key ingredient to relaxation as parents, too. The care your team showed is not something money can buy and we are so grateful! Even as someone who has worked in the hotel industry for many years, I was blown away by the unique ideas that are so extremely well executed all around the hotel. Many hotels try to achieve a welcoming lobby design that makes people linger, but Ulrichshof created one that engages all generations - just like the entire rest of the property. There are so many activities to choose from and places to explore, it is impossible to get bored, yet not overstimulating or crowded. It feels like a very wholesome experience. The food was delicious, spa area for parents and treatments wonderful, staff friendly and fluent in German and English, I could go on and on. If you're on the fence about booking, do yourself a favor and trust the team at Ulrichshof to host you for an unforgettable family vacation.
