We popped in for a quick drink for the first time. The atmosphere was fantastic, service outstanding and the tapas amazing! The owner was welcoming, friendly and just so lovely. I could not rave enough about this place. It's an absolute gem! I will definitely be visiting regularly.
I made a booking by mistake for one night at the wrong date and went to the hotel in person shortly afterward to cancel it. I explained the situation to the front desk staff and was told not to worry. That the reservation would be canceled and I’d be refunded. I specifically asked about the refund and was assured once again that there was nothing to worry about. I asked for a confirmation by email, and was promised one. However, the hotel now decided not to refund the booking. Despite my immediate communication and their verbal commitment. The email they sent as a confirmation only states the cancellation, but doesn't mention anything about refunding. The hotel staff now tells me that I have no written proof of their promise to refund me. So, they chose not to honor what was promised. Very disappointed with the lack of integrity and customer service. I would not recommend this place based on how they handled a simple and honest mistake.
We arrived at the hotel expecting to check in, only to be told — quite pleasantly, I might add — that the reservation had mistakenly been made for the following night. An honest error on our part, which we immediately acknowledged. The young woman at reception was courteous and helpful. She informed us that unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked that evening but assured us the following night’s reservation would be cancelled and fully refunded. She even kindly recommended an alternative nearby hotel. Imagine our surprise, then, when we later received word from the hotel claiming that no such conversation had taken place, and that the receptionist in question had “no authority” to make such decisions. Apparently, our entire exchange — witnessed clearly and directly — was a work of fiction. It’s one thing to make a mistake. It’s quite another to gaslight your guests afterwards and imply dishonesty on their part. That’s not poor service — it’s a fundamental failure of integrity. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
