My husband Federico and I were there in room 25, for two nights...the hotel Was perfect. Situación, breakfast, People fron the recepción very nice. So nice all the workers. Highly recommended.
This is a good hotel in many ways - nice rooms with very comfortable beds, welcoming staff, excellent breakfast, interesting building, and well-placed for lots of things to do in Thessaloniki. However, be aware it is in a very noisy part of town, especially at the weekends, even in off-season late March. We booked four nights arriving on a Friday. Just about managed on Friday night, but Saturday was so loud - with the hotel's own bar amongst the loudest - we gave up and went to another hotel where there was some chance of sleep. The nightclubs go until 6.00am. Sunday was better, but still noisy from the clubs around the hotel. We checked out despite having another night paid for. The internal sound-proofing isn't great, either. If you have noisy neighbours you'll likely hear them, too. If staying mid-week this could be a good choice, but I would avoid weekends and bring earplugs.
I booked a room for two nights and prepaid in full. After the general strike in Greece was announced to protest against the institutional failure in the aftermath of the Tempe train disaster, the airlines canceled all flights into Greece. As a result, we could not fly into Thessaloniki and -- big surprise -- not stay at the hotel. I asked them one week in advance to cancel the booking and reimburse the prepaid amount. They sent me their cheeky "offer" to use the first night as cancellation fee and the second night as credit to be used until the end of 2025 ("excluding dates of exhibitions, national holidays, etc."): "Although your booking is under a non-refundable policy, we understand the difficult position you are in, and therefore the best we can offer is to charge the first night as a cancellation fee and the cost of your second night will be provided to you as a voucher." AS IF! As if I would ever go near this hotel. As if I would support any business that uses the country's mourning to make money for no services rendered.
