I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were warm, attentive, and made me feel truly welcome! The entertainment team was fantastic! friendly, engaging, and always kept the atmosphere lively and fun. A great experience overall, and I would definitely return!
We had a great time. The friendly staff were welcoming. The bar kept the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks flowing. Our room was a good size for us: family of 3 adults. One adult per bed - two adults would be a little tight - especially in this heat. We utilized the pull out couch. We had trouble with our key brackets - this was annoying. The resort is gorgeous - the outside of the buildings are pristine. The location is beautiful- and the pool was wonderful. The inside of the buildings are dated - but clean. The only wildlife I saw were lizards… outside. Thank you Bahia Principe for making this such a memorable birthday! (Honest review requested as part of a promotion)
Our stay at Bahia Principe was unfortunately marred by several frustrating service issues. Our room had no air conditioning, and the phones weren’t working. My friend went down to the front desk twice within an hour (around 10pm)before someone finally came to check on the situation. The staff member acknowledged the issues but explained he couldn’t fix the phone himself and would have to contact IT, and he would have to check the system re the AC saying it would take 20 minutes but it never got resolved. At 1:12 am, my baby woke up screaming and sweating, and I had to go down myself to ask what was happening. Only then did the front desk decide to move us to a functioning room. Experiences like this made our stay unnecessarily stressful. Additionally, if the staff say they’ll send a bed for you, don’t take it—the beds are extremely uncomfortable, almost like concrete. Overall, everything takes much longer than it should. On the positive side, the guest services team was very helpful, even going out of their way to source cabbage leaves for me. The service at the resort’s jerk restaurant was also good. While there were moments of good service, the repeated delays and lack of responsiveness made this stay far below expectations for a resort of this caliber. Oh also, the rooms are pretty dated.
