Baia Flaminia

Spent the morning supervising our high school students at the school assembly. Clean bathroom facilities, has elevator and cloak room too. Unfortunately no food or drinks are available on the site. Students had to walk to find food and snacks during the break.

Very lovely spot, away from the center and beach hotel strip/umbrella land. Excellent staff, great breakfast. Never used the pool or spa, but I'm sure they are nice too. Only complaint is the room I had was not renovated, like the pics on booking, but was the same price as an internal room, but with a little balcony and sea view. The tv was missing...not sure why.

I would have been better off throwing my money into a hole. This place is a mediocre 2-star hotel, at very best. For a price of over 120euro a night, there are certain expectations - namely comfort and safety. My air conditioner didn't work and it leaked. The door to the 'balcony' was broken such that it nearly fell on me twice. The showerhead didn't work correctly and there was literally a hole in the wall of my room. The minifridge was not stocked nor turned on. I paid to go to the 'spa' where, again, many things were broken and I wasn't even given a towel to use. I went to dinner one night and the service took over two hours - and I was alone! Cold, dry food that was, in principle, nice but they were obviously having problems getting it to the guests. I may have been able to overlook most of these things but the blatant disregard for health and safety standards during COVID was shocking. Self-serve food and beverage for breakfast and dinner - hundreds of people were sharing coffee machines, bottles of water, etc. They also gathered the guests for 'parties' indoors without masks or any other precautions. One such 'party' happened to occur on a night when I had to be up at 5:00am for the ferry. The music was turned up so loud and children were screaming so loud that my floor was vibrating. I called the front desk to ask for a place to sleep and they said there was none - that the party would be over around midnight. Their website claims to have an adult pool and children's pool - they do have two, but both belong to children. The only positive thing I can add to this review is that most of the staff were kind and seemingly hardworking. An overall very regrettable decision to stay at the Hotel Baia Flaminia. A similar experience at a quarter of the price can be gotten from your local hostel. Some advice: please take your money and sleep elsewhere.
