A Disappointing Stay – Strong Caution Advised I have always refrained from leaving negative reviews, having experienced countless properties worldwide without any major issues. However, my recent stay compels me to share a cautionary tale. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cold house, a malfunctioning heating system, and a pervasive mold odor. Dripping water from walls and windows exacerbated the discomfort, especially considering the -12°C temperature outside. The bed linen was not only smelly but also damp, making it a truly unpleasant experience. The furniture and amenities were outdated, some even broken, reflecting an overall lack of care. To our surprise, a deposit was requested, and during check-out, the host was audibly counting plates, creating an unwelcome atmosphere. Communication with the host, particularly due to her limited English proficiency in a prominent European skiing area, led to numerous misunderstandings. This language barrier significantly detracted from the overall experience. A piece of advice to the hosts: Genuine hospitality involves addressing issues rather than deflecting blame. Pointing fingers at inherent problems in your business made our group of over 10 guests feel extremely uncomfortable. Considering the prevalent mold and associated health hazards, reporting your establishment to the Bormio Health Department seems warranted. For prospective guests, this is a clear NO-GO. While I hope others can enjoy the Livigno Bormio area, I strongly advise against choosing this host. Saluto! Enjoy the ride elsewhere.
