Bakirooms is located on the top floor of a big building and thus has a nice view over the city. The building itself is located in a bit of a strange neighborhood but we didn't feel unsafe. The elevator is a bit old and small, but does the job fine. The lounge/kitchen area and the rooms are quite modern and clean compared to the rest of the building so that's nice! There is a big balcony where you can eat your breakfast in the morning with a nice view (breakfast not included when booking a room). The rooms have air-conditioning, which is very nice, but the shower tends to change temperature of the water on it's own even when not touching handle. But all in all it was a decent hotel. The reason why I'm giving this review 5 stars is because the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming! We arrived pretty late, around 20h30, yet he still took about an hour or so of his time to give us a detailed explanation about Rome, what to visit, which restaurants he recommended, how the public transportation in Rome worked and the cheapest ways to get from point A to point B etc... He gave us a nice and handy map which we used every day. Combined with google maps, we navigated through Rome with ease. We didn't see the owner that much, but when we did he was always very positive and friendly. This made our stay at Bakirooms a very pleasant experience! Definitely recommend this hotel!

Good rooms for an okay price!! Pros - Location, responsive and kind owner, amazing air conditioning, desk, tv, storage shelf for clothing, good shower Cons - No shelving or storage in bathroom, can’t open shutters on windows, bad smell coming from our bathroom the whole time causing us to keep the door closed the whole time, bugs found their way in the room easily Would repeat if absolutely necessary.

We got kicked out during our staying just because we asked for new towels and bed sheet. I know, it sounds super ridiculous, we were shocked as well. Here’s what happened: 1. We found out someone got into our room because our bed was made. However, we were not informed in advanced. Moreover, there were no new towels and new sheet being changed. 2. Our personal belongings were touched and moved, including towels, clothes, and any other things. We felt confused, because if they didn’t provide new towels and sheet , why did they touch my towels, and just came in to make my bed? Not to mention we also felt concerned about our sensitive date like credit cards being seen. 3. We politely asked the owner if next time they could inform us in advance, and we appreciated their service because we understand maybe they were just trying to make our stay comfortable. However, we care about hygiene very much, so we asked if we could have new towels since my old towels were touched by them. 4. After that, they said we were not allowed to stay there anymore as they felt accused and our message was not appropriate ( we have screenshot proof for our messages being appropriate, polite, and do not include any cursing language. We are right now checking the regulations concerning data security, and if possible we will post screenshots as well.) Even under the assumption that the cleaning was done with good intention, the response of the owner is unacceptable. We were rudely asked to leave, which ruined our remaining days, because we were stuck with our luggage and had to search for a new place. Still, the price value and location of the Flat is okay for saying a few days if you don't mind a surprising visit or a rude owner.
