It was okay & good. Appreciated that staff knows english and does not shy away when being talked to english.
A lovely setting marred by lots of little problems. The Bali Resort is truly a tropical oasis, conveniently close to the airport. Our room, and it's setting, was delightful enough that I was happy to have paid a higher price ($60) than usual ($25). However... Our stay was marred by many small problems that were clearly the result of inadequate low-level management. The Best setting can't make up for bad low-level management! Here are just a few quick examples, from among many that we encountered in just an overnight stay. * Hot water: There was none in the bathroom. Turning the tap and letting it run for 10 minutes produced only tepid water. In an upscale hotel, this is unforgiveable. * Umbrellas: A sign saying "Umbrellas", with no umbrellas, despite it being rainy season. Actually, there WERE umbrellas, 10 meters away, in a place without such a sign. Why not move the umbrellas or the sign? * Breakfast: The buffet was in one room, but the omlette station was outside, surprisingly distant from the rest of the food. Why make everyone walk this distance, up and down stairs, through a door, and past so many other people? What benefit (to the resort) could justify imposing these problems on guests? Every other upscale resort has managed to solve these problems more conveniently -- why can't the Bali Resort's management do the work to solve them, too? So, my advice is to STAY AWAY from the Bali Resort until, let's say, September of 2024. By then, its management will have had time to solve all of these problems. If the problems persist after that -- forgettaboutit. Its many small problems add up to an experience that is not worth its relatively-high price, despite its lovely setting.
Today we went to check about the room and the receptionist was so rude. She’s seated in the middle among her colleagues. So sad, beautiful place but unfortunately the staff doesn’t want people to stay, probably.
