Balmoral Resort Florida

Still enjoying our stay at Balmoral Resort. We have a beautiful two story house with 4 ensuite bedrooms, a large open-plan kitchen/diner, and pool. There is a communal centre for residents with a bar/cafe, swimming pool, and slide. It's adjacent to the motorway network and takes approximately one hour to the popular theme parks. Overall, it was very good!

This was our third time staying at Balmoral Resort, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. The quality and cleanliness have gone downhill drastically. When we arrived (late check-in), the housekeeper was still cleaning and asked us to wait a few more hours. Once inside, we found the home in poor condition: bugs, roaches, lizards (my son had to remove one himself), and spiders in the bathroom. Towels appeared unclean, and the house clearly hadn’t been properly maintained — the sliding door handle broke off, and we had issues with the AC unit as well. The most disturbing part: after returning home, every member of my family had bites all over their bodies. We're seriously concerned it may be bedbugs, and are now dealing with the worry that we may have brought something back with us. We tried to stay in communication with the management company (Tropical Escapes), mostly by text, to report all of this — but the response was underwhelming. It feels like the property is being overused and not properly cared for anymore. We live in Columbia, SC, and our kids were excited about Florida’s warm weather and pool access. Sadly, this experience was a major letdown. I strongly urge future guests to do their research — this resort is not what it used to be.

I reserved the entire week of Easter as a Surprise to my wife for her 40th. As soon as we arrived, opened the garage door and snake comes out the garage. It took them a day to resolve, as this same snake made his way into the pool patio through holes in the screen. 2 Ruku remotes didnt work, one TV was scratched up. We went into the master room and a big roach was on the floor. Later, my wife gets into the shower and a roach is crawling up the wall of the shower. We stayed in 200kb 6bedroom sleeps 12. I flew in family from DC, NC, ATL all as a surprise and spent just under $4,000 to stay here. I have pictures and videos I submitted to the care team, email correspondence and they did nothing. We left early and was refunded the remaining of our stay but I believe they should have done more, considering as soon as we walked in I called and send pictures of everything. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! I won't even discuss the poor service at the bar & grill, if you sit at a table. You must go to the bar if you want to expect service in a reasonable timeframe. This place is all exterior looks.
