Balthazar Hotel & Spa Rennes MGallery Collection

We loved the ambience of this hotel in the middle of Rennes. Very easy walking distance to historical district, good shopping, and cafes. The room was quite nice. The bedding was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and well-appointed. The front desk staff and bartenders were quite service oriented, helpful, and friendly. Our only criticisms are that the pillows were like mush and the shower door leaked a bit. The room could have used a bit more lighting since the room faced the garden area. But all in all, you’ll be pleased with this hotel for your stay in Rennes.

One could not ask for more pleasant staff at a hotel. Beni at the front desk and Sophie at the bar made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The location of the hotel was perfect, the rooms were spacious and well appointed. My biggest complaint was the bathroom faucet knobs which are smooth and round nearly impossible to grasp with wet hand. I would definitely stay there again.

There was a little issue during check in. The comment I left on Accor's ALL website when booking of having two rooms on the same floor (if not communicating) was ignored. Overall we had a good stay, but some aspects of the hotel are starting to show its age and are not 5-star-worthy: the iron board is old and the fabric is torn. The sheer curtains are the same. Even the gourmet restaurant menu should be replaced.
