Balvanyos Resort Peakture Hotel & Grand Hotel Balvanyos

Everything was just perfect! We stayed for 2 nights at Peakture Hotel and we loved it: the breakfast is very various, you have plenty of options to choose from, the room was very specious and the SPA was amazing, with different types of pool and sauna. The staff were also very friendly and always there to support and the food was delicious. We had dinner and lunch at Gastrolab and Bundaberry. I would totally recommend this place for a small escape into the nature.

Beautiful design, clean and very nice atmosphere

This is marketed as a family hotel- child friendly, unfortunately nothing is friendly here. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and one of the bathrooms had a terrible smell, we couldn’t use…they have an issue with the drain system and even if I asked at the reception several times to fix it, nothing was done. They called the cleaning lady to pour some cleaning solution and that was it. The smell persisted for 3 nights and even in the room the smell was not bearable. We requested a baby cot and it came without a mattress, they just put a folded pillow and was not comfortable at all. When we asked for a mattress the answer was they don’t have… Cleaning is very superficial, we went out for a walk and put the sign to clean the room, when we came back they only vacuumed the living room and the entrance to the bedrooms, being snow outside when we came there we show footprints on the floor with mud. The lady didn’t bother to wipe the floors. Breakfast was very basic, not many options for babies actually just a few, considering this a child friendly hotel i would expect much more options. The other restaurants were a disaster, for lunch we ordered a soup and came after 50 minutes even if i asked politely to bring it faster because it is for the baby. At Gastrolab we went for dinner and we waited 40 minutes for our dish and when we got it was cold and not very tasty. The only options for kids is french fries with schnitzel, chicken leg with mashed potatoes and pasta carbonara. The next day we tried again to go to the other restaurant to get a soup, it came after 40 minutes and was so salty that we couldn’t eat. Food was a total disappointment, no options for small babies. Spa area for families has a small pool for kids with a few options to play, with more than 10 Kids is already crowded. Overall we didn’t have a nice experience at this hotel and is a pity because they have a lot of potential and they don’t care. The feeling the staff let is that you are speaking Romanian they don’t serve you in a nice way.
