Bandalong Cottages

What a beautiful spot. As soon as we drove into the property and walked into our cottage, it felt like home. From the beautiful decor, to the little touches like leaving out a night cap and little chocolates in the fridge made it feel homely. It was peaceful and only a few minutes drive from Mudgee. Thank you for having us and we will be back.

Last weekend, Mudgee put on three sensational days for us and two friends. We cycled in the Classic Mudgee Cycle, tasted wine, and shopped at the markets (thx ClayCat). However the highlight was coming home to Bandalong, Stringbark cottage to enjoy good food and wine with friends around the fire. When I stay in a cottage, rather than a five star hotel clinical experience, I want a sense of home. The Bandalong Cottages are above and beyond my expectations! Staying in the cottage feels like going back home staying with my mum, except that mum is not there yet mum is everywhere. The owners show great care to the guest and give extraordinary touches to details that I feel very much welcomed. To name a few, all the plants in the room are freshly picked locally, the paintings on the wall are sceneries around town look like they are painted by either local artists or family members, night caps ready for the guest, ice cubes made up in the freezer, porch light lit upon my arrival, plenty of bathroom and kitchen supplies, lollies in the fridge of different flavours, a special cabinet for everything you need for the fireplace, notes are handy at places that they know you need them, a chair outside of the bathroom for you to sit down putting your shoes on, carry bag for grocery shopping, four layers of blanket duvet combination and double sided electric blanket…. It’s easier said than done, and I know how much extra efforts they have put in to the cottage. It is truly appreciated. On top of that, the price for the two bedder is only half of the price I paid for the Harry Potter room at Hydro on the way home. If I ever come back again to Mudgee, I’ll for sure to book the cottages again! Did I mention the beautiful stars at night and the friendly Roos every now and then? Hey Diana, put a bathtub in will ya? I’ll pay double the price for the cottage next time. Thank you so much for this fantastic experience!
