Barcelo Funchal Oldtown

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at! Breakfast was super yummy, salmon, potatoes, eggs and sweets. Big shout out to Laura, who made the eggs and omlettes. She did an awesome job! Front desk was super and they were so good with our kids. Nice rooftop pool too with a gorgeous view. Rooms were kept very clean.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Barcelo Funchal Oldtown hotel and had a wonderful experience. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The service was amazing, with the staff taking care of our needs to make our stay enjoyable. Additionally, the breakfast was very good, offering a variety of delicious options to start the day right. The hotel's location is perfect, situated in the center of the old town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local cuisine and nightlife. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, comfort, excellent service, great breakfast, and ideal location and outstanding guest experience. One minus - first-floor rooms can be noisy due to nearby bars and restaurants.

Honestly one of the nicest stays I've ever had. Hotel was beautiful. Inside and out. Rooms were clean. Rooftop was gorgeous. They even had a free live music event when we stayed that was so memorable and fun. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. I have to say that the staff here was also extraordinary and very kind. I had an issue with my booking that they fixed ( i was worried it would be a nightmare because we flew in overseas but it wasnt). They treats their guests so respectfully. Madeira is a beautiful place to vacation and the experience i had here at barcelo makes me want to come back. I wish I could give it more stars.
