Barcelo Margaritas Royal Level Adults Only

Hotel was very clean. Grounds were were well managed, again very clean. Royal level gave access to all facilities of both hotels including free premium drinks. Our room was excellent a Suite on the 8th floor 806. Two balconies one overlooking the sea and the other one looking over the mountains. Beautiful views during the day and night. The bed and bedding were excellent. Keyless entry to our rooms via a bracelet was very convenient. The check-in process was faultless from being dropped off by the coach and being checked in. As was the staff level of service overall. Food was varied and of good quality. Breakfast was a choice buffet and a la carte the poached eggs were Perfect each day. Swimming pool at the Royal level was clean and a decent size and a good temperature. The only criticism I can give for balance is the app for ordering drinks at the pool was touch and go. Although the bar was only a few meters from the pool and then they delivered the drinks to you.

Very high level of service. Very nice and clean rooms with a big balcony with two sun beds. Nice pool area with activities (yoga, aqua gym). Only negative thing was that there were several cats running around the premises - even around the buffet area. When asking the staff to remove them they said that ‘the cats chose to stay there, so what to do…’! This was the only turn off - but enough for us not choosing the hotel this year even though all other things about it were great…

We have just returned from staying at this hotel. Whilst the rooms, pool area and staff were great, there was nothing “royal” about the food. We’ve stayed at many Barcelo hotels and the warmth, variety and quality of the food leaves much to be desired. For us, food is a big part of our holiday experience and it massively lets the place down. If you like to eat later in the evening, don’t be expecting anything warm (let alone hot) when eating at the restaurant intended for people staying in the Royal level. I have contacted Barcelo about this and whilst they responded initially, they seem unwilling to do anything meaningful by their guests. Very disappointing customer service.
