Barceló Hotels are really good hotels, but in Ixtapa the experience is improved! The beach is warm and looks nice at the sunset. Also, there is a luxury dinner night for every 3 days booked. I tried the japanese restaurant and everything was super delicious! Definitely this is a must-visit place in Ixtapa. I highly recommend it

Not coming back here, this used to be one of my favorite hotels. But the service is bad now, there used to be a lot more people offering you drinks and they used to be more polite. The waiters in the restaurants only offered you a drink when you get in and you don’t see them again. Other thing I didn’t like is that they don’t allow you to have a small speaker so you can place some music while you’re in the pool or taking the sun next to the pool. We had the music low and I was told to turn it off. I think that we paid a good amount of money to have some good vacation and we are not even allowed to listen to the music what we want. I think that as long as you don’t bother the people next to you, you should be OK to put some music.

A deeply disappointing experience from start to finish My air conditioner was never fixed. From the day we checked in, we set it to 10°C, but the room never dropped below 22°C. The rooms are incredibly outdated, the water pressure is practically nonexistent, and it’s clear the resort does not have the capacity to accommodate the number of guests it accepts. Every meal—breakfast, lunch, or dinner—requires a wait of over 30 minutes just to get in, followed by more lines inside to get food. This is not what one expects from a company claiming to be worth $1.6 billion. We came as a family—over 90 people for five days—and the majority paid for the premium service, which was never delivered. Many of us had to request room changes due to broken air conditioners, non-functioning refrigerators, flooded bathrooms, and more. Additionally, when I checked in, I was assigned room #1118. Upon entering, I found open suitcases, underwear, and bras—clearly the room was already occupied. This level of carelessness is absolutely unacceptable. The “premium lounge” was also a disappointment—nothing in the refrigerator was actually cold. I sincerely encourage management to check this for themselves. After this experience, I can confidently say that none of us will ever stay at a Barceló property again. It was a huge letdown from beginning to end.
