Barceló San José

Such great value at this hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the pool area was amazing. The hammocks were comfortable with a great view of San Jose. We had an amazing stay here with very accommodating staff. Highly recommend staying here and doing the full board, our server Javier was fantastic and went above and beyond every night for our dinner and remembered us each night. He even helped us work on our Spanish! Dinner and breakfast were delicious with numerous options and very delicious and inexpensive drinks.

Rooms are especially clean, AC works wonders, and service is great with bi-lingual hosts. Overall it is a great place to stay. Very safe and not far from many San Jose destinations. The trip to the airport can be delayed due to traffic, so please keep that in mind. Very reasonable price for their offerings. Multiple restaurants and if you want to spend a little extra, the lounge with drinks and snacks is well worth it. Breakfast (free): 6am-10am

The place is great, amazing view, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired...The information on their documents say breakfast until 10:30am, but people at the restaurant say 10am, so if you were trusting the information provided in paper, too bad for you. Also they say 10, but they start picking up stuff at 9:30 so if you wanted coffee with sugar, not going to happen, or wanted napkins, it's a no too. Options at the buffet gets reduced at 9:30 too. And people at the reception can't be bother to answer questions for the guests right in front of them. Basically if you can stay without needing customer service or the angora restaurant it will be a great place to choose
