We stayed at the De Sol suite and it was beautiful! We love the modern, large, and clean space and the room was only steps away from the hotel restaurant. We also got free water and bottles of wine on arrival in the fridge (note: they don’t replenish the water bottles daily). The workers are nice but wasn’t anything exceptional. However, we met and saw the owner around and he is a very nice and cool guy! We also liked Katarina, who was our server during breakfast (which is included in the stay). You can park right outside the building but note you have to go up a VERY steep hill. My only comment would be that the breakfast dishes were inconsistent. For example, I’d order the same dish two days in a row and one day would come with 2 slivers of toast but the next would come with 1 sliver. I didnt mind but just something to make note of. Also, beware ordering the eggs Benedict, it took FOREVER to arrive both times we ordered it. Overall, I would stay here again and loved the space, ambiance, and the complimentary breakfast. Would recommend!
Beautiful rooms, absolutely wonderful service and very close to the port and the beach. Would definitely recommend and visit again! Thanks for everything!
We stayed at Bard de Sol from 12-15 June and while the setting is visually stunning, the hospitality experience left us disappointed. We had very high hopes after reading reviews by other guests. We arrived at 12 PM—aware that check-in was at 3pm—but hoped for a bit of flexibility, especially since every other hotel we stayed at in Greece had let us check in early. The staff did store our bags and invited us to wait in the reception area, use the gym, or go explore the town. While that was appreciated, our room wasn’t ready until sometime after 3, and no one kept us updated along the way. The hotel’s website mentioned that the restaurant opened at 12PM and so do their menus, but there was no chef on-site until 3 PM. We were sent to a tavern down the hill to eat, which we later discovered didn’t open until 4 PM—leaving us hungry and exhausted with nowhere to go. That lack of accurate information added to the frustration. To be clear—the reception staff were friendly. But the overall hospitality felt impersonal and unprepared. When you arrive tired and early, you’re not expecting miracles—just a little care, attention, and communication. One bright spot was Elena, who worked at the restaurant. She was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind—a real contrast to the rest of the experience. In short: the property has potential, but basic service and thoughtful hosting were missing.
