We had the best wedding day in July 2025. Barnett Hill is a lovely tucked away wedding venue with the option of exclusive use which we opted for. The venue and grounds are beautiful, there were hotel rooms for all our guests and flexibility with the wedding breakfast. The team on the day were so attentive and professional, special shout out to Zsolt and Lajos who helped give us the best wedding day possible. The whole team were so happy and smiley which really fed into our joyful day. Our guests are still raving to us about our day, they all loved their hotel rooms and breakfast the next morning. It was great to drop everything off the day before and leave the venue and our suppliers to work together on making a truly memorable day. Thank you Barnett Hill for giving us the perfect wedding day!
We stayed at this exceptional hotel in Surrey while I was pregnant, and it was truly the perfect getaway. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the architecture and overall design of the hotel give it a really special feel. The rooms are spacious and beautifully done — you instantly feel calm and cared for. The food was absolutely amazing, both in the restaurant and in the outdoor areas where you can enjoy a drink or meal surrounded by nature. The hotel is family-friendly, with lots of open outdoor space where kids can safely run and play. While there isn’t a designated play area, our experience felt very welcoming and comfortable for families. The gardens are expansive and ideal for a peaceful walk, and the nearby forest adds to the sense of calm and connection to nature. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and just enjoy the moment. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but it’s definitely worth it — whether for a short break, a longer relaxing stay, or even just a lovely lunch or dinner out. I’d especially recommend it to expecting or new mothers looking for a peaceful escape before or after giving birth. It’s also a beautiful spot for couples or anyone in need of a reset. Highly recommended — a true gem in Surrey!
Definitely early days in their "changed" menu, if our Sunday lunch meal is anything to go by. We went on 11 May 2025 drawn by the news that Michelin-trained chef, Steven Newton, had started there. The duck egg was AMAZING, beautifully presented and delicious tasting, with lots of details one might expect of a Michelin trained chef. But the main course was a bit of a disaster - firstly they made an error with the order - we ordered the beef and pork, and two "beef"s appeared. My wife tried hers but it was cold. They took both our dishes away, and returned the beef together with the stuffed pork main, both hot now. Absolutely nothing original about these dishes. But that might be what people expect of a Sunday lunch: I would have liked a nod at least to something a bit more well thought through. We declined a dessert, as we could hardly wait to get out. Not a great experience. However, they did not charge us for the food, and when they presented the bill had overlooked the drinks we had on the patio, until I pointed it out to them. The maitre d' was great, the waiter not so much. I am not sure what would tempt us to go back again.....maybe the croquet and the delightful gardens?
