Looking for a place to unwind and relax? Aswan is definitely the place to be and Basma hotel is an excellent option. High Summer is Low Season because of the heat, but, as it is located on a mountain, even during midday, you can experience a wonderful breeze and sitting in the shade on your terrace, overlooking Aswan and the Nile is absolute bliss. Service is attentive and professional; I would like to give a thumbs up to the lovely ladies of the Guest Relation Team. The Chefs are also doing a very good job and coffee at breakfast (always important) is outstanding. Rooms are clean, amenities plentiful, public areas and landscape are well taken care of. I particularly liked the amazing sculptures throughout the hotel and hotel-grounds and the Nubian touches in the décor. Highly recommended and I will definitely return.
We stayed at the Basma and were so impressed by the service and friendliness of the staff. From upgrading our room to a spectacular view or the manager booking an uber for us on his own phone, the staff went above and beyond. Even the man who brought us room service gave us lessons in arabic and had us all laughing. Our best stay in Egypt so far. The hotel is lovely, views are amazing and the pool is gorgeous for a night swim. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We loved everything.
Outstanding! Beautiful location and large rooms. Delicious food. Everything was perfect apart from the packed breakfast when we were leaving. The previous hotel was also excellent but both provided a packed breakfast on departure that that was inedible. The last memory of what was a very lovely hotel. Nobody could drink the coffee ( to which most of us were looking forward) from the machine and apart from the pieces of fruit which we put in our bags, the rest of the breakfast and big plastic tubs were immediately discarded. We left feeling quite let down, and in need of breakfast. A decent tea or coffee and a FRESH bread roll with an apple in a paper bag, would have done! The one-off use of plastic was pretty wide-spread and I think most tourists would be happy to see a more sensible approach. It was a beautiful hotel.
