Our family reserved two rooms with an adjoining kitchen (which was supposed to be) included in the price. When we checked in we were told that we would have to pay an additional $25 per night for access to the kitchen. We also were told that they had recently started charging $20 per room per night for parking at the hotel. When we reserved the rooms parking was included. We reserved these rooms directly with the hotel!
The location itself is amazing. Steps away from the beach. Also has a pool and hot tub which is nice. The rooms themselves are outdated and mattresses are low quality. The biggest reason for the low review is the customer service. The staff is very unaccommodating and they nickel and dime you. We have been coming here every year as a family of 20 for the past 5 years. We rent 5-6 rooms out each time we come. They used to never charge for parking , now it’s 20$ a night. Most rooms have kitchens attached to them, they now have blocked off the kitchen and charge extra $ per night to access it. They also make you sign a waver now saying you will get fined if you let a non hotel guest into the pool common area most hotels allow guests to have day guests of their own. They will NOT do early check in or let you have an early parking pass. Because of these changes , it no longer fits our groups needs. We will find another hotel for future family reunion trips.
We had a great stay at this hotel — amazing location, fun pool, and friendly staff throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn after we checked out. We were aware of the $250 security deposit held on our card and were totally fine with it. However, despite being told multiple times that the deposit would be returned, it never was. After waiting with no update, we filed a dispute through our credit card company, only to have the hotel respond with false claims about our stay to avoid refunding the deposit. To make matters worse, the hotel won’t even return our calls. When we do get through to someone, we’re told the manager is gone or the system is down. The workers I have spoke to on the phone have made indications that we should have our deposit as nothing is noted in the system. It’s disappointing to have had such a great stay ruined by how things were handled afterward. Be cautious if you plan to stay here, especially when it comes to getting your deposit back.
