Bear Inn Somerset by Marston's Inns

Very easy check in. Plenty of parking and it was free. Room was a decent size. No thrills etc, but it is a typical pub room with a super king size bed. Staff were lovely and friendly too. I would happily stay here again.

Cottage was a bit dated but had all we needed. I think they should explain on booking that you are not in the building and actually down the road. The breakfast was OK, not the best. Street is fantastic. Lovely restaurants and bars. Will be back. Liked the little promo game at the pub to win prizes for the place.

The location is great. Walking distance to shops etc. Free parking for customers and high speed electric charging is great value. The staff in the hotel/bar/restaurant were really friendly and helpful. Ellen and another young lady behind the bar were fab. Couldn’t fault them. Friendly efficient service. Good choice of food and drink too. Waitress at dinner upbeat and happy. The only downside for us was the room being so dated and tired in need of some drastic refurbishment. The shower over the bath for example. The room was away from the main hotel which isn’t too much of a problem, but not what we were expecting. The beds were really comfortable though so a bit of a mixed review!
