Bel and The Dragon at Red Lion Wendover

Absolute gem of a hotel. An enthusiastic and informative welcome from the wonderful Harrison set the tone for a most pleasant and wonderful stay. All staff were equally friendly and helpful. The beer garden was a lively ( not too lively) space where I enjoyed time catchup with friends. The bedroom was comfortable, beautifully decorated and well appointed, with extra touches which made it all the more special. I particularly liked the milk in bottles instead of the horrible plastic ones you only ever manage to spill the milk from. There was also a complementary tipple of sloe gin for us to drink. Breakfast was equally amazing, and we enjoyed a lovely cooked meal with a buffet set with warm pastries and fresh fruit along with the usuals. Already booked to return. One of the nicest places I’ve stayed in a while. Thank you

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. We have just held our wedding reception at the Bel and Dragon at the Red Lion. Matt the manager took care of all our requirements including food choices, wine requirements and evening buffet. He and his wonderful team set the whole room up ready for our arrival, it looked stunning. We were greeted with welcome drinks on the patio area and Matt had reserved several tables and plenty of seating for our guests, every staff member was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was a problem to any of them, what an amazing team. The food was plentiful and tasted amazing and when catering for such a large party is not an easy task so massive credit to the chef and his kitchen team. The rooms were beautiful, clean and very well equipped and spacious. Thank you all so very much for making our special day just flow so effortlessly. Highly recommended Matt and his team. Our third wonderful stay. Room was beautiful, staff were great, Harrison made us feel so welcome on arrival what an asset to your business he is. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast poached eggs were perfect and staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble . Our first choice to stay whenever we are on the area.
