Belfry & Spa by Ligne St Barth

I was compelled to write a glowing review after our wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. We were warmly greeted and taken care of by Victoria, she was very charming and helpful. All the staff were delightful. We were impressed with our junior suite, it was very spacious, with great attention to detail to make guests stay as comfortable as possible, we loved the balcony & views too!. We had the spa pool to ourselves (very stylish, great facilities) and a large jacuzzi overlooking beautiful views of Lourdes. Its perfectly located too, and lastly we were lucky enough to visit the restaurant there, the meals were the best of our whole trip, thank you Belfry for the great memories!

This hotel claims to be 5-star, but in reality, it’s far from it. I’d say it’s closer to a 3-star experience, maybe 3.5 at best. The rooms are a decent size, but the decor and furnishings feel very dated and more in line with a basic 3-star hotel. Service is friendly, but painfully slow not the level of attentiveness you’d expect from a 5-star property. The gym is extremely basic, no dumbbells, no real equipment so don’t count on getting a proper workout. There’s also no lactose-free milk available, which is a basic option in most hotels nowadays. Even the small things are off: when you order water in the lobby, they just bring you a plastic bottle and charge for it. If you ask for a cup, it’s a cheap plastic one. Again, not what you expect from a hotel that markets itself as luxury. The hotel itself is very old and not in a charming, historic kind of way. It feels outdated and neglected. You can tell they tried to cover it up by adding fake grass walls in some places, but it doesn’t help much. Overall, the location is decent, but everything else falls short. This is simply not a 5-star experience.

Very disappointing considering it’s advertised as a 5 star hotel. Rooms are large, but very simple. Bathrooms are large but no ventilation at all, the shower door allows lots of water out onto the floor, and the lighting is insufficient for shaving and putting on makeup. Rooms are very clean, but beds are very hard and uncomfortable. View from our room was nice. There is artificial grass on stairs, gym floor, and all over the small elevator. Gym and spa are old and need rehab. Food, bar, and service there was very good and saved the day. The cost is not supported by the condition/amenities.
